Patio Glow-Up Time! Join Me as I Create the Perfect Outdoor Space

It’s patio glow-up time – and I couldn’t be more excited! As we prepare for our move from the often grey, unpredictable weather of London to a sunnier, much more patio-friendly climate, I’m already dreaming of our future outdoor space. I can practically taste my morning matcha enjoyed under clear blue skies, and picture soft, candle-lit evenings filled with relaxed conversations and fresh air. While it might be small, I’m determined to turn our little patio into a cozy, inviting oasis – complete with lush potted plants, a few herbs to nurture, and those special touches that make it feel like home. Ready to come along as I bring this vision to life?

Before diving into all the fun details, let’s start with the foundation – furniture! I always believe that choosing one big statement piece, like a cozy outdoor sofa or a beautiful dining table, sets the tone for the entire space. Once that centerpiece is in place, everything else – from chairs to side tables and accents – naturally falls into place. Here’s what I’m considering for our new patio setup!

Product Name from IKEA

This SEGERÖN range from Ikea caught my eyes instantly! Neutral, taupe colours are exactly what I had in mind! I has my mind pretty much settled on this set until I found the CHITA range on Amazon!

Also, look at those gorgeous CHITA barstools! Perfect if you have a little bar area in your patio… or even indoors!

And now onto the things that join the vision together – outdoor rugs – here are some of the options I like.

I think at the moment this Loloi rug from Amazon is a winner for me!

This one from Rugs.com comes on a strong 2nd place. The patern is so minimalistic.

A very smilar option from Unique Loom.

And last but not least – a little bolder yet still very neutral and toned option by Jonathan Y Store.

My 3rd step will be to bring the patio to live with some plants and herbs.

I instantly fell in love with those concrete planters. Lavender or some succulents will look perfect i

One of my little patio dreams is to grow a selection of fresh herbs – basil, thyme, oregano – right outside our door. Not only do I love the idea of always having them on hand for cooking, but they also add such a lovely, vibrant pop of green to the space. Since most of the big elements on our patio will be in neutral tones, I think bringing in some contrast with darker-colored herb planters will help break things up visually and add a bit of depth and texture. It’s a small touch, but one that will make the space feel more alive, cozy, and personal.

And that’s a wrap on the first step of our patio transformation! There’s still more to do, but I already feel the magic of this space taking shape. Whether it’s sipping something refreshing in the sun or harvesting a few homegrown herbs for dinner, I’m so looking forward to making everyday moments feel special out here. If you’re planning your own patio glow-up—or just dreaming of one—I hope this post gave you some inspiration to start. Stay tuned for updates, DIYs, and maybe even a few plant parenting wins (or lessons!). Let’s make our outdoor corners the cozy retreats we deserve.
